Our 3 garden cottages have beautiful settings in a peaceful atmosphere. Pennygum is an ideal base to explore the Southern Drakensbergs in South Africa.  You will find us only 6.4 km from Underberg on the Drakensberg Garden Resort Road.

Our African Dreams ‘Honeymoon’ thatched rondavel  is tastefully decorated in this theme and sleeps 2 adults and a further 2 adults or 2 children can be accommodated on a sofa bed in the lounge.  It has one bathroom  with large romantic corner bath and 1 shower room  together with an open fireplace in the lounge.  It is fully equipped for self-catering and has a private garden with outdoor seating and braii facilities. There are outstanding views of the Giants Cup from the bedroom and lounge. It is equipped with a dvd. Ideal for a romantic getaway or a honeymoon.


Our Lavender Cottage is a cosy, attractively decorated in this theme and sleeps 2 adults and a young child. It is fully equipped for self-catering and has a shower room and a dvd player. The cottage leads to a private garden with bench and braii facilities.


Our Family Cottage is double storey with its own entrance and large garden area – ideal for a large family or groups. There are 3 double bedrooms and a dormitory room in the loft with a further 4 single beds. The cottage sleeps 10 people. The cottage has 2 bathrooms and an open plan kitchen. The lounge/dining room has an open fireplace and a dvd player.  Enjoy a braii (Weber type), spotting birds on the verandah with magnificent berg views or star gaze into a sky with virtually no light pollution.

All cottages are serviced daily and have electric blankets in Winter.

Breakfasts and excellent home cooked dinners can also be pre-ordered - ideal for your arrival after a long journey or hike in the mountains, afternoon teas and packed lunches are also available, prices and menus on request.
